-
- AmiMosaic or IBrowse have nothing to do with connecting on a ppp account. You
- can use them to browse the web _after_ you successfully connect.
-
- You will need "ppp.device", which is available on aminet (evaluation version),
- and a TCP stack such as "AmiTCP", "AS225", "Envoy", etc. AmiTCP is available
- on aminet (evaluation version).
-
- "ppp.device" has a built in dialer, which works quite well. It is supposedly
- possible to dial in with a term, and then start up "ppp.device", but it is a
- source of many problems and is not necessary.
-
- If your students center requires PAP authentication at connect time, you will
- have to get the registered version of "ppp.device", which costs $15.
-
- I have successfully connected to three different Internet providers with
- "AmiTCP" registered version, and "ppp.device" registered version. Each
- provider's connection was different. The provider I am using now uses PPP
- proxy mode, which is something Micro$loth dreamed up, I think. It sucks as I
- have no valid address, and can't run servers, or IRC. It is, however, free
- for me, which is why I use it.
-
- Good luck!
